HISTORY

In 2007, a Community Environmental Health Assessment of Alexandria was conducted by the Health Department’s Environmental Health Division. This data has been used to inform the work that was already underway with the Partnership for a Healthier Alexandria. In early 2008, the Partnership’s Steering Committee decided to form a fourth work group: the Environmental Health Work Group.

The Environmental Health Work Group had its first meeting in August 2008 and is currently working on strategic planning and prioritizing initiatives around respiratory health and the built environment.
