The Partnership for a Healthier Alexandria is leading a community-wide effort called MAPP -- Mobilizing for Action through Planning and Partnerships. Through this process, we hope to strategically identify, analyze and prioritize health needs in Alexandria. And THEN identify ways and resources to address those needs. We are already working on several priority health issues based on a 2004 community survey. Through the MAPP process, we will broaden our scope and possibly identify other priorities.
Share Your Vision for a Healthier Alexandria
The Partnership for a Healthier Alexandria is reaching out to everyone who lives, works, learns, and plays in Alexandria, asking them to help shape a vision for a healthier Alexandria.
Our first step in this process is to create a vision for a healthier Alexandria. Over the last three months, we have sought widespread citizen input into this vision through community surveys (264 respondents, including over 50 in Spanish) and a community meeting held in March (attended by over 60 people). In creating this vision we tried to get as many community perspectives on health as possible.

Now that we have a draft of the vision, we are seeking widespread community feedback to make sure it is truly representative of what Alexandrians think.
